Your ideas about good circuit design don't entirely align with mine. 
Your rejection of the classic common-base two transistor monostable does 
come to mind.  It didn't provoke any kind of screaming fit from me, but 
I did get lots of instruction about not losing my temper when I was a kid.

The nearest we ever got to a job interview had you forwarding a private 
e-mail from me to you to Jim Thompson.

If that's an example of your interviews technique, anybody with the 
smarts to get a Ph.D. would write you off rather rapidly.
