Fair enough, but as far as can tell there are no ads on that BBC web 
page.  I just tried another BBC travel link with similar results (beach 
ball spinning for 5 minutes, with 100% CPU usage).

Safari is fast enough for me and I prefer it over Firefox for its 
gestures, but it does behave strangely for some web pages.
