Oops ... a little more on that.

... same page ... loaded fast, but the page is hung and Safari is taking 
over 600% + of available CPU.  (4 cores first thread loaded to near 
100%, each core's 2nd thread to about 60%)

Chrome: responsive, light CPU load.

Re-loaded the page in Safari, no issues.

I'd guess that some of the advertising on that page may be responsible 
and/or the pop over for the quiz (BBC).
