When you compare COMPARABLE systems Macs tend to be competitive. That does
not mean you cannot get a PC for less money -- you have more customization
options and can *not* get the things you do not want or need.

And, of course, there are pros and cons to each beyond that. If you are a
gamer then a Mac is likely a lousy choice. For general desktop computing the
Mac often has more streamlined workflows and fewer glitches (which is not to
say none).
