  The old adage "you get what you pay for" holds true often still. 
Software is one of the few products which can be made available for 
free, economics will continue to determine the rest. I personally am 
reasonably satisfied with many free services offered on the Internet, 
and glad of their availability. Providing "Class A" service does not 
come cheap.
