Some mean to allocate a dedicated register for stuff like this.  I know, the 
main problem is that x86 has not enough registers to give one away for a 
current object.  But even if the variable isn't in a real register, 
declaring it as register would allow the compiler to cache it, so it doesn't 
have to be loaded from memory every single time.
