I've been lightly following this thread. I don't believe the 
GA144 is "aimed at"/"suitable for" problems I'm currently 
interested in. I also do not claim the programming expertise 
to address the problem of moving data and/or calculations 
between cores/nodes/???.

Physical hardware, much more fascinating ;)
I suspect that are not only the "wrong" questions being 
asked, but assumptions  might also be "wrong". N.B. generous 
use of "..." .

Dubious assumptions:
- homogeneity of c.l.f.
SECT1   - immediate high volume use - 1000's per ???
SECT1a  - immediate      volume use - 100's  per  ??/N
SECT2   - immediate low  volume use - semi/full custom apps
SECT3a  - near future use for semi/full custom apps
SECT3b1 - experimenter use
SECT3b2 - Hobbyist
- even when above (& other) differences are recognized
the initial needs of all groups (AND sub-groups) are very 
similar (~==)

A proposed (possibly naive) solution _framework_
- CPU card with
   RAM
   ROM &/or PROM
   unity gain analog buffers
    {before some squawk - open traces which can be closed 
are tradition ;)
- I/O card (w buffers)
- Memory card (ROM RAM OTHER{why might a TB drive not be 
memory???)
- Analog I/O card (Think before complaining - I'm proposing 
a philosophy NOT an implementation ;/
