As I said, my statement was not about cause and effect, and your's
wasn't really, either (see below).  That's what I wanted to point out.

If you intended your statement to provide an explanation of why these
words were not standardized, it does not really have explanatory
power: There are implementation-specific differences in everything
that is not standarized, and for those things that were standardized,
there were implementation-specific differences before these things
were standardized (and there still are implementation-specific
differences in (mostly) the non-standardized parts of these things).

So saying that "there are implementation-specific differences" does
not explain at all why some things are standardized and some are not.

For Forth200x I can say that these words were not standardized because
nobody made the effort.  They might have been covered in a proposal
for a FIND replacement, but there has not been such proposal, either,
because of philosophical differences concerning whether XT and NT
should be required to be the same or allowed to be different.
