I don't know if your problem has been solved yet, peter.lawton@blueyonder.co.uk.
If it hasn't, you could try running VB P&D's setup.exe from the SFX Zip file, just change setup.lst to run your special install.exe.
That way setup.exe will first install msvbvm50, then run install.exe, which picks between the 2 available setup options.
