  Let me see if I have this right. You want to take a system you have
never used, bung it in your machine, upgrade it to a system that will
tax your few years old computer, then remove it, put it away in storage
and never use it. Is that about the size of it?
  Why on Earth would you want to do that? An acquaintance and I have
often had discussions about people who upgrade the operating systems on
their old computers then wonder why their machines run slower than
molasses. It just doesn't make sense; especially if you're not even
going to use the upgraded system anyhow! What's the point?
