There is no "sdb slot". There is no relationship between the physical
position of a disk and its device name.
Moving a disk and copying data don't give the same result, and there are
different ways to copy data. What is your goal ?

Make sure "secure boot" is disabled in the UEFI options.
Create a FAT formatted EFI system partition. At least a few MB.
Mount it permanently on /boot/efi.
Install grub-efi-{amd64|ia32}.
Install the bootloader in the EFI removable path with
grub-install --target={x86_64-efi|i386-efi} --removable
The alternative {|} choice depends whether the UEFI firmware is 32 or 64
bits. 64 bits is more common.
