Why do you want to do this. Perhaps if you told us what you really want to do, rather than your proposed solution, someone could suggest a better way of accomplishing it. The system will tend to number them by "the first drive I come across is sda" In fact sometimes it will number them differently on different days, or different times in the boot process.
