The IP changes: a script at your site notices and updates the DNS entry to point to the new IP. Of course, the people that are at that instant downloading a file will be disrupted. They have to connect again and tell their client to refresh. Depending, the client will be able to continue where it was or will start again the download. No, NFS is not what you want. Plain http is, if you want to host the files yourself. You have to set an apache server for that. But if you use ADSL, your clients will have to download pretty slowly. Better get a fibre to the home connection. However, perhaps youtube is easier, if what you have are lessons in video. An alternative to http, if you want to control who downloads, is scp (secure copy). ie, ssh. As to the DNS: you have to set up a dynamic DNS setup with someone. It is possible that your router already knows about some of these, so you need to register, perhaps pay, and set it up. -- Cheers, Carlos.
