There are base weighted and windshield suction type phone holders. But in my desert climate leaving any electronics on the dash in direct sunlight for any length of time can and usually does cause damage. YMMV. In the summer here it's wise to not even leave electronics in the car as inside temperatures can go well over 150F. >> A long way from the paper flip-over AAA Trip Tics I used to use >> some years back. > Paper maps? Within a week or so the stuff arrived in the snail mail. It was paper maps with the route blacked in. Also there was a spiral bound tablet with only the route from the top of the page to the bottom of the page. You could lay it near you and flip the pages as you went, so you didn't have to unfold the map while driving. In the coincidence department, I have an email service from the US Post Office that sends me photos of the mail that will arrive later today. I just checked moments ago and I have mail from AAA. It says on the front "We want you back!". Do they monitor Usenet?? > But I love some google features. Like we are crossing a village, and > someone in the car says: I want cigarettes. And beer.
