Not much, particularly as it will be set up already for defense 
purposes...but the point is, local ground based systems can be much 
faster and more accurate. They could also monitor the movements of many 
objects as well. I understand that some football codes are already 
recording how far each player runs during a match. GPS tracking is being 
carried out now regularly and its accuracy and capacity could be much 
improved. Driverless vehicles will be common soon and just imagine the 
chaos if they all relied on GPS and the system broke down.
