Currently I'm using Windows 10 in all but one PC that has Windows 7 i386 
to run old DOS and Win16 applications, but I been getting fed up with 
the Microsoft shenanigans and I'm seriously considering to start 
switching to Mint Linux. So it would be extra nice if it worked in both OS.

Winblows I imagine you are not a Windows fan boy. Windows 10 is OK but 
with every major update it breaks a lot of stuff and I'm getting sick 
and tired of that. Several of my PCs have Mint Linux 18.1 LTS on a 
second SSD drive and it just works, even after major upgrades everything 
works fine. The only thing slowing me is that I have a lot of money 
invested in Windows OS and applications.
