I would say Codewright, but it is unobtainium these days.  I'm currently 
learning SciTE.  It is available for all PC platforms.  I'm not doing as 
well as I would like because I haven't found much in the way of learning 
materials.

I had been looking at emacs.  It is available on all platforms and has 
tons of learning materials.  But it seems I just can't get up the 
learning curve.  They want you to learn all manner of goofy keystrokes 
which would have worked well with me when I was 20, but the grey matter 
has hardened too much now.

SciTE does syntax highlighting and makes indentation easy, but I've 
never found any editor that completes structures for you.  I'd like that 
for VHDL.  :)

I discovered that the IDE editor with Win32Forth has similar roots to 
SciTE.  The "about" says it is based on SciEdit and it has a similar 
icon.  But maybe I'm making a connection where there isn't one.

I wonder if the Win32Forth IDE can be easily used for other purposes 
such as connecting to remote target command lines?  If you do embedded, 
that might be something to add to your list.  Emacs can do that, but 
then emacs can do *anything* if you learn enough about it.
