The real secret to the Fountain of Youth appears to be the ability to
regenerate telomeres (without creating cancers). Without doing so, cells
can divide only so many times, then they cannot divide or they die.

A secondary one is repairing damaged DNA which accumulates over time.

Many cancer cells turn on the ability to regenerate telomeres, which is
why they grow out of control.  The body needs the ability to regenerate
telomeres to create sperm and eggs, a kind of "reset".

Henrietta Lacks is immortal, although she died in the 1950s. At least her
cancer is immortal.  It's the source of the "HeLa" cell line, used widely
in research into testing almost anything to see if it's harmful to humans,
making vaccines, etc.  That cell line regenerates telomeres, and is very
easy to grow in the lab.  It's over 60 years old and may live as long as
researchers need to know what harms humans, without actually harming humans.
