Repeating your myths, imaginings and misunderstandings does not make 
them true, no matter how often you try.

The possibility of different pointer types having different 
representations is only one minor reason why different pointer types are 
incompatible and you need casts in cases like this.  Mostly it is about 
type safety - if you have a pointer to one type of object, and try to 
use it to access a different kind of object, your code probably has a 
bug.  You can use a cast to tell the compiler that you know what you are 
doing.
