If anyone is interested, a few comments.
1. The code uses a new feature of C11, specifically anonymous
structs and/or unions. <editorial>It would be nice if that
dependency were removed, so it could be compiled with -std=c99
instead of -std=c11.</editorial>
2. The code is not standard C. Apparently it was compiled
without using the -pedantic option. Bart: I recommend using
the -pedantic-errors option. Also you might want to include the
appropriate language version option (ie, -std=c11 for the code
as it is now) in the lines that document how to compile it.
3. The dependency on -m32 caused me some problems when I
tried compiling it. I believe this dependency can be
removed fairly easily (see below), but I should add that
I have only gotten the revised code to compile, I haven't
tried running it. With the diffs below the code compiles
both with and without -m32 (on a 64 bit system).
4. If compiled with -Wuninitialized, roughly half a dozen
cases are detected.
All the rest below is generated output of diagnostics
and diffs, if that isn't of interest feel free to skip
out now. :)
