I'm not convinced. Here's the way you say you would this stuff in C:

Being able to call foreign functions, especially C, is common.
But some choose to to do things little differently, often for a good
reason. Or it's possible to mix and match:
while not eof(f) do
x:=y:=z:=0.0
if sscanf(sreadln(f), "%lg %lg %lg", &x,&y,&z)>1 then
println x,y,z
fi
od
However I would normally write such a thing more informally like this
and it should be clear why:
while not eof(f) do
readln @f,x,y,z
println x,y,z
od
Why shouldn't someone introduce the same kind of informality into C? Not
every program is going to be launching a space rocket (and they don't
always get it right).
