I installed EndeavourOS, which is Arch Without Tears. I've done all the 
low level stuff the Arch purists want you to do decades ago and don't need 
a refresher. Endeavor throws in a couple of nice tools like 'yay' to deal 
with AUR. Otherwise it's Arch. I went with KDE.

I liked it. I mean it was KDE although I also installed sway as an 
alternate. It was a tossup of which had more frequent updates, Arch or 
Fedora.

And therein lies the rub. After one update it wouldn't boot. I tried the 
usual techniques to fix it but wasn't successful. I didn't have 
irreplaceable data so eventually I installed SUSE Leap 16, again KDE. I 
figured having at least one box with a staid, trailing edge distro wasn't 
a bad idea. 

Leap seems to have some oddity with VS Code and extensions. 1.127 works 
fine but some of the extensions I use crash on 1.133. No big deal. I 
locked code so it doesn't update. Most of the updates are AI slop anyway.
