After all these years, I finally tried Arch Linux. I'm impressed with it, 
fast booting, works well. I didn't install it the "Arch way" — I just used 
the Archinstall script they include on the disk. Total time to install, 
about 15 minutes. Just walks you through the steps, let's you choose your 
desktop (I went with Cinnamon) and you can save your install script for 
future installations. (I think I remember that CentOS (before being bought 
by Red Hat) doing that back in the day. Of course it was Red Hat feature).

It's a bare bones install, but it didn't take long to learn "sudo pacman 
-Suy application" instead of "sudo apt install application." It boots and 
shuts down quickly. (Probably because there's not a lot going on in the 
background.) It runs cooler than Linux Mint. At first my video wasn't very 
good, but I searched Arch's Wiki and found that I needed to install Mesa. 
That was easy. 

I guess I'll see what's it like on the "cutting edge" for a while. I'm doing 
this because the person who made an AppImage for Trelby used Arch, and he's 
got a script to do that. I tried unsuccessfully to convert the Arch shell 
script into a Debian shell script, so I thought, "why fight it," I'll just 
use Arch. But I didn't expect it to be this easy to install. I haven't tried 
compiling a Trelby AppImage package yet, but I plan on trying.

At any rate I like Arch Linux. So far it's been easy to work with.
