It will not allow that. Even when I booted with the CD I could not do
anything with the mint partition. I cannot unmount the partition because
it is in use.

No, it does not recognize it at all.

As far as I can tell, the windows partition is only about 25 Gig if it
exists at all.

No, Gparted wont allow me to do anything. The partition cannot be
changed. Can you suggest a way to do it?

I don't have the windows disks so I don't want to format he whole hard
drive.
