Exactly.  I despise the vcard thing -- it's incredibly wasteful of 
everything possible.  All I ever want is name / phone# / email address 
in a simple text or pdf file.  It's a constant annoyance that I can't 
easily convert Thunderbird's addressbook into a simple list of name and 
email address (one name per line) without going through a spreadsheet 
(LOTS of editing) and then a word processor to get a simple one-page 
multi-column list of my 1500 contacts :-(

If somebody sent me a vcf/vcard list of his emergency contacts I'd 
figure anybody that rude or stupid deserves to bleed out or burn to 
death :-(
