Give me a number to memorise any day, instead of poetry! I can't even 
remember the first line of that.

(I knew pi to 127 places once (most of them now forgotten, except for 20 
or so at the start). No direct practical use, except that when a 
lecturer was showing off by writing it to 75 places on the board, I was 
able to correct him. Although only to suggest the 75th digit should have 
been rounded up if it stopped there.)

This doesn't really work, as then your code becomes non-portable. And 
would cause raised eyebrows if code was posted here full of PIs. 
Similarly to my posting code using FORs (#define FOR(i,a,b) for(i=a; 
i<=b; ++i)).

You're effectively defining your own mini-C-standard, one shared by 
no-one else.
