  Daar zijn tegenstrijdige berichten :-) over.

  Ik heb e.e.a. een jaar geleden getest, en toen was geen extra
06-nummer nodig, Maar het kan natuurlijk indertijd veranderd zijn.

  Mijn tests waren 1) WhatsApp op een Wi-Fi-only tablet en 2) WhatsApp
op een Android emulator op een Windows PC.

  Als 06-nummer gebruikte ik mijn gewone 06-nummer van mijn *dumb*
phone.

  WhatsApp probeert het 06-nummer te verifieren d.m.v. het versturen
van een SMS, dan faalt dat natuurlijk, want er is geen telefoon-gedeelte
in het tablet c.q. in de emulator, dus geen SMS mogelijkheid. Na 5
minuten komt WhatsApp erachter dat het niet lukt, en biedt aan om het
nummer te *bellen* (spraak verbinding). Dat lukt wel, want het bellen
gaat aan de kant van WhatsApp d.m.v. de Internet verbinding, die er
*wel* is. WhatsApp geeft een (spraak) code en die code moet je invoeren
in WhatsApp. Daarna is het 06-nummer geverifieerd.

  Ik ben gestopt met mijn experimenten, want 1) ik wilde het tablet niet
constant aan hebben staan voor deze functie en 2) de Android emulators
waren alles behalve stabiel en crashten om de haverklap.
