There are several people, who claim, that 'mathematics is the language 
of physics' or 'shut up and calculate..'.

In my eyes this is 'Platonism' of some kind.

In my eyes 'string theory' is intentional blunder, to keep physics 
student in a mild state of trance  (and entertain the general public a 
little bit with voodoo magic).

You usually use computers to run simulations.

Mathematics is used, to create the models, which are used in such 
simulations.

And physics is used to justify these models.

But you cannot justify the models by mathematical logic, but by 
consistency of model with observations.

These observations are, what you usually call 'experiment' and what is 
in effect research into the foundations of the explored subject.

Such experiment are very similar to how children play, since that's what 
games are for: what does happen if I do this???
