you clearly don't know how to use itunes.

syncing with itunes does *not* in any way mean 'copy every single song
to the ipad'.

you can easily choose which songs to copy and which to skip, with
itunes managing everything for you, so you don't have to. let the
computer do the work *for* you. that's what it's there for.

like i said, it's no wonder you're having so much trouble. you doing a
half-assed job of trying to do what itunes does with a click.

yet when someone does a restore to a new device from a backup, their
music is restored, which means you are wrong.

it's not the default setting.

it certainly can be used the way you are using it but with the effects
you are experiencing.

my backups aren't incomplete. 

every single time i've restored from a backup, the music was included,
along with everything else. 

"you're using it wrong".

no, you're making it far more complicated than it needs to be and
having a variety of problems, all of which would go away if you chose a
different set of options.
