When originally implementing EKEY, this looked like the way to go, but
they have complex interfaces, so what we did at first was to just
support the sequences that we found on the Linux console and on xterm,
and it seems that this is good enough.
Surprisingly, they sometimes produced different sequences for the same
key, but as long as they don't produce the same sequence for different
keys, that's no problem. We also added sequences reported for MacOS X
iterm, but otherwise have not received reports of sequences occuring
that we do not recognize. So it seems that standardization of escape
sequences has pretty much succeeded, and going through a configuration
mechanism like termcap/terminfo is no longer necessary.

sequences we recognize.
