So, what the fuck are you doing in Australian newsgroups where you don't
belong seppo troll???

> you're forced to vote,

How horrible eh, being asked to do your civic duty, eh moron!

And just imagine those horrible consequences you face if you don't:
  You get a $20.00 fine. That's it!
  What absolutely unbearable horrible punishment!

You septics have zero concept of social responsibility! :-P

Sure. You are absolutely ignorant about the Australian electoral system
yet you have the audacity to make stupid comment on it.
Maybe Google it first before you make yourself look like the arrogantly
ignorant septic fool you actually are.

In Australia you are given the choice to vote for parties in a
preferential order or alternatively you can cast your vote for the
candidates directly, also in a preferential order. You have the full
freedom of choice unlike you fucking sheep septics who have to live in
gerrymandered/voter suppressed/billionaires manipulated first past the
post shit-hole of a country.

> Do you people have any say as to who the candidates

Decision about the selection of party candidates remain with the
membership of the given party.
If you want to have a say about the nominations you have to sign up as a
member.
Nothing wrong with that.

Anyhow, there are also independent candidates, and you have also no say in
the decision of individuals nominating themselves for the office
*providing they fulfil the criteria* for the nomination.

But, actually that is totally irrelevant from the standpoint of an average
voter who have the power to reject or accept candidates at the ballot box
and can do so in a preferential order.
That is why our electoral system is far superior to the shitshow your
septics have.

And now kindly bugger off in the sunset, together with your trolling ilk.
