Having a printed manual made it much easier to flip through and mark important sections. As for the payment, the retail cost of the suite was $2,000. But Apple were more generous in their organizational discounts back then: 50% off Apple-brand software. So my price would have been $1,000. But they also had a promo going, $300 off for the entire suite (as opposed to buying only FCP or DVD Studio Pro). In those days nearly half the programs on TV were made with Final Cut Pro.
