You used to get proper manuals with hardware too: computers, TVs, set-top boxes, etc. These days you're lucky if you even get a single page "Set-up Guide". :-( Even when you rarely do get manuals these days, they are often so rushed that they contain errors. The guide book that came with my mother's VW car said to look in the driver's door fram for the recommended tyre pressures (as is usual in most cars) ... nothing there. Eventually, after asking the dealer, we found the tyre pressures are ridiculously listed inside the petrol flap!!
