Questions ko0ky runs away from really fast:
1. On a winter's night, with snow on the ground, is it typically colder
or warmer when there is cloud cover versus when it is clear?
2. What might NASA have meant by "an active Sun" *other* than sunspot
activity?
This list will be added to as needed over time. I very much doubt any
items will get removed from it by ko0ky giving a straight answer to one
of them. Ever.

On a winter's night, with snow on the ground, is it typically colder > or warmer when there is cloud cover versus when it is clear? The hint is the snow is near ideal thermal IR emitter, and especially in case of feather/dusty snow as a good insulator, the snow surface cools down fast. Everybody with snow experience can give the right answer even in case of his ignorance in physics. > > 2. What might NASA have meant by "an active Sun" *other* than sunspot > activity? > E.g. Time to spin the kooks up again. Melt, kooks, melt. <snicker>
Ko0O0oki kensi the lunkheaded libtard, in
<news:n8ut8l$v4p$1@gioia.aioe.org> did thusly jump head first into the
wood chipper again on Date: Thu, 4 Feb 2016 02:05:51 -0500:
2:05 AM?! What's the matter, Lumpy Dumpy, you butthurt or something?
LOL
If you're going to just keep spamming the same retarded questions,
LunkHead, I'll keep answering them with the same answers that prove
you *wrong*. LOL
Hey, here's a question for you... a question every astrophysicist
*must* know in order to ply their trade... so your inability to answer
it will stand as your tacit admission that you're not really an
astrophysicist, you're really a slumpy dumpy frumpy lumpy libtard
loser who's yet again had his socks outed. LOL
Ok, here's the question: "Describe in detail how one can draw a
triangle with angles that do not sum to 180 degrees. Include the
mathematical framework to quantify the effect, and correlate your
answer to the physical phenomenon which is the underlying reason why
astrophysicists must know how to do this."
Now get to backpedaling, you hilariously halfwitted moron. LOL
> Questions ko0ky runs away from really fast:
>
> 1. On a winter's night, with snow on the ground, is it typically colder
> or warmer when there is cloud cover versus when it is clear?
Moron keeps bleating out the same questions because moron can't for
the life of him conceive of how the world works. It must suck to be so
perpetually confounded by reality. LOL
Over water or ice, it matters little, due to the ~11-micron infrared
atmospheric window, you dolt. Water emits at the ~11-micron infrared
window, whereas land emits at longer wavelengths, thus clouds over
water, snow or ice will have negligible effect on temperature.
Now you get back to denying a well-known and well-studied atmospheric
phenomenon, LunkHead... after all, for you moronic libtard Klimate
Katastrophe Kooks to be able to continue to k'lame that CO2 is a
greenhouse gas, that infrared atmospheric window has to be done away
with, because with its existence, your retarded k'lames that CO2 is a
greenhouse gas violates the First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics...
the NASA SABER study proved that CO2 is a global _coolant_ *because*
of that infrared atmospheric window... CO2 emits at the ~11-micron
infrared atmospheric window, too, along with at 15-micron and
7-micron... and the 7-micron and 15-micron wavelengths are reabsorbed
and re-emitted again and again, with some being emitted at ~11-micron
each time, so the great majority of the energy absorbed by CO2 gets
emitted at the ~11-micron infrared atmospheric window and thus chucked
straight out to space unimpeded, as the NASA SABER study proved.
See what I did there, LunkHead? I corralled you into a discussion you
couldn't possibly win, then beat you to a pulp with your own
stupidity. You're on *my* turf, you little fucktard. You can't win.
And with that, you are well and truly SPNAK!'d. You can't refute
NASA's SABER study, you can't refute the reality of the ~11-micron
infrared atmospheric window, thus you cannot refute that CO2 causes
global *cooling*, not global warming.
<snicker>
> 2. What might NASA have meant by "an active Sun" *other* than sunspot
> activity?
There's no mention of "sunspot activity" in the *three* referenced
peer-reviewed studies proving you *wrong*, you pathetic backpedaling
moron. LOL
Kensi The K0ok doesn't want anyone to realize that he was yet again
180 degrees out from reality.
To wit, LunkHead k'lamed global warming causes stronger hurricanes,
but in reality:
"The total and UV solar radiation - A hurricane's maximum potential
energy is _inversely_ related to the temperature at the top of the
convective clouds in the central core (Emanuel, 1991; Holland, 1997).
An active Sun warms the lower stratosphere and upper troposphere
through ozone absorption of additional UV radiation. A warming
response in the upper troposphere to increased solar UV forcing
_decreases_ the atmosphere convective available potential energy
leading to a _weaker_ cyclone (Elsner and Jagger, 2008)."
To wit, LunkHead k'lamed that CO2 causes global warming:
<http://science.nasa.gov/science-news/science-at-nasa/2012/22mar_saber/>
=================================================================
"Carbon dioxide and nitric oxide are natural thermostats," explains
James Russell of Hampton University, SABER's principal investigator.
"When the upper atmosphere (or 'thermosphere') heats up, these
molecules try as hard as they can to shed that heat back into space."
For the three day period, March 8th through 10th, the thermosphere
absorbed 26 billion kWh of energy. Infrared radiation from CO2 and NO,
the two most efficient _coolants_ in the thermosphere, re-radiated 95%
of that total back into space.
{NOTE: They did this by absorbing then re-emitting that energy at the
wavelength of the ~11-micron infrared atmospheric window.}
=================================================================
To wit, LunkHead k'lames the planet is warming, in spite of the proof
from NASA, UAH, UK Met, RSS, NSIDC, SIDC SILSO and other research
facilities proving it's cooling:

The UK Met trend shows a -0.014 C per decade (and accelerating)
*decrease*.

The actual underlying (read: unmanipulated) NOAA data shows a 0.6186 F
*decrease* from 2005 to 2015.

Dr. Don Easterbrook shows the past global warming was solar and
orbital forcing induced, the conditions have changed, and global
cooling has set in... since 1998.

Page 11 - Global temperature rate (C per year): dropping since ~1998.
*Negative* since ~2005. That means temps have been dropping for ~17
years, and the gullible LibTarDs have been lied to for ~17 years:

Even NASA admitted that global temperatures were falling in recent
years (before they pulled that page... luckily the WayBack Machine
archived it):

Note the center trace for modern times in that graphic... *falling*
temperature, even as CO2 and methane rose.

You'll note he doesn't say "global cooling", he specifically says "an

You can't refute any of the several peer-reviewed studies posted, you
can't refute the NASA SABER study proving CO2 is a global *coolant*,
you can't refute the existence of the ~11-micron infrared atmospheric
window which is how CO2 works as a global *coolant*, and in order for
your k'lame of CO2 being a greenhouse gas to work, you have to somehow
do away with the infrared atmospheric window. To fail to do that means
your kook contention of CO2 being a greenhouse gas violates the First
and Second Laws of Thermodynamics.
See what I did there, LunkHead? I backed you into a corner and kicked
your stupid teeth in with truth and reality, and in the process proved
that the whole Klimate Katastrophe Kook "zOMG! Antruppymudduck
Gloobeal Woarmying! DDUUUURRRRHHH!" lie is a fucking scam, believed
only by anti-science morons too stupid to understand how things work.
LunkHead is an anti-science nitwit who doesn't understand that his
k'lame of CO2 being a global warming gas violates the First and Second
Law of Thermodynamics, which makes Anthropogenic Global Warming a
fairy tale that only morons who don't understand how the world works
believe in.
Spankard yet again gets his stupid ass drop-kicked across Usenet. LOL

Kensi snipped out any evidence that proved her wrong then demanded
that evidence again and again, only to snip it out again; she denied
having written what she clearly wrote (after she snipped it out, of
course); she k'lamed that I'd written things I clearly didn't (and she
failed to back up her k'lames with proof); she stated that zoanthropy
and transexualism aren't mental illnesses (they are listed in the
DSM); that the psychiatric community is incorrect for listing them as
such by taking an example from nearly 100 years ago (hysteria), long
before modern psychiatry got a grasp on what exactly constitutes a
mental illness; she stated that the CDC is promulgating "FUD" that's
"been debunked in thousands of places" (yet provided no proof of this
k'lamed "debunking"); she's been cornered into admitting her belief
that gays have suffered "no harm" in living a lifestyle that's given
19% of them AIDS, causes the gay community to account for 63% of new
AIDS cases per year (per the CDC) and kills thousands of them per
year; she stated that liberalism is growing when it's actually in
decline (and stated that conservatism is dying when it's actually
growing and has a nearly 2:1 advantage over liberalism), and she had
the audacity to try to use the same exact study from Gallup that I'd
used to prove her wrong in the first place (proving she's kooking out
so badly she's lost her reading comprehension abilities); she stated
the Antarctic ice sheet is shrinking faster than ever when it's
growing (to the tune of 49 gT/yr, when considering that land ice is
slowly growing and sea ice is rapidly expanding, per Nasa's ICESat);
she stated that global temperature is rising when it's been falling
for more than a decade per the UK Met and NASA, and accounting for the
revelations that US climate researchers outright falsified the data to
give the impression that a 90 year cooling trend was actually a
warming trend; she k'lamed CO2 as the driver for global temperature
change, then quoted a web page that says the exact opposite (the same
web page, BTW, that I'd used to prove that CO2 lags temperature
change, proving yet again her loss of reading comprehension)... then
she *admitted* CO2 lags global temperature change, thereby being
forced to agree with me (and reality); she then k'lamed CO2 as the
driver for global temperature change *again*, but as yet has been
unable to explain, given that CO2 levels were at least 5 times higher
in the Ordovician and sun output was nearly the same (0.991
Ordovician, 1 today), why we're not in a perpetual ice age today; she
presented examples of mass-shooting suspects that she k'lamed were
conservative (but they turned out to be liberal, socialist or were the
result of a liberal upbringing); she tried to state that Nazism was a
conservative political party (it's a form of liberal fascism that
takes many of its tenets directly from socialism); she failed to
provide any proof of some of her kooky contentions while k'laming them
as "proof"; she used a flawed and biased dating website poll and
k'lamed that it trumped an actual scientific study (ironic, given that
she's a scientist herself); she melted down so badly she lost her
ability to do simple math; she attempted to k'lame Abraham Lincoln was
a liberal (he admitted he was a conservative); she attempted to k'lame
that every major civil rights advancement was solely due to liberals
(when it was conservatives who've advanced the overwhelming majority
of civil rights bills, to the strident opposition of the liberals),
she k'lamed she knows who I am due to her "kookology experience",
"profound psychological insight" and "cryptanalysis skills", yet she's
thus far run from five challenges to out me, for 560 days and counting
(ie: she doesn't dare provide any of her so-called "proof", for fear
that she outs the fact that she's kooking out and seeing me
everywhere), and her loss of reading comprehension skills resulted in
her apparent loss of being able to determine chronology. As the level
of spankage she was receiving escalated, the time between her posts
grew, and the length of her posts grew shorter as she snipped out more
and more evidence that she's a delusional kook... she's been beating a
strategic retreat for months now.... when she's not attention-whoring
for all the boys because her make-believe husband isn't paying enough
attention to her fat, ugly, delusional ass anymore. LOL

Pshaw, you're not even smart > enough to be an astrologer. To get angles summing to other than 180 degrees the triangle has to be in a curved manifold. The angle sum will be less the more negative the curvature's manifold, and greater the more positive, being 180 when the manifold is flat. A good example: take the meridians at 0 degrees and 90 degrees longitude on Earth, and take the segments of these meridians from north pole to equator. Add in the arc of the equator joining these endpoints by the shortest distance. This is a triangle in Earth's surface as a curved manifold, as the sides are segments of great circles, which are geodesics of that manifold. The interior angles are all 90 degrees, so the angle sum is 270 degrees. From this can be intuited that the relative scale of the triangle and the (possibly negative) radius of curvature of the manifold determines the angle excess/deficit, as making the sphere and triangle smaller by the same factor preserves the angle sum of 270. (Earth is actually (approximately) an oblate spheroid, which doesn't alter the angles, though it makes the triangle a not-quite-equilateral isosceles triangle.) Make only the triangle smaller and the angle excess shrinks toward zero, the angle sum tending to 180, and ditto making only the sphere bigger. The exact quantitative relationship is given by the Gauss-Bonnet theorem, which states: integral_M K dA + integral_dM k_g ds = 2*pi*chi(M) where M is the portion of the manifold enclosed by the triangle (or, actually, any figure) and dA differential units of the enclosed area, K is the Gaussian curvature over M, dM is the triangle itself (or other figure), k_g is the geodesic curvature of this boundary, ds is the differential on the perimeter (so integral_M dA = area A and integral_dM ds = perimeter s), and chi(M) is the Euler characteristic of M (1 for a simply-connected, bounded area with no holes such as our triangle). For a piecewise-geodesic boundary like our triangle, integral_dm k_g ds is the sum of the angles by which the geodesic segments turn at the corners of the boundary, which is pi minus the interior angles. So for the triangle, it's 3*pi minus the sum of the interior angles whose sum with integral_M K dA equals 2*pi*chi(M) = 2*pi, i.e. 3*pi - angle_sum + curvature_integral = 2*pi, or angle_sum - pi = curvature_integral -- the deviation of the angle sum from 180 degrees (but expressed in radians) equals the integral of the curvature of the manifold over the portion enclosed by the triangle. For a manifold of constant curvature (e.g. a sphere) that integral equals the triangle's area times the constant curvature (so, the angle deviation grows as the triangle's area grows, and as the curvature grows); the curvature in question is 1/r^2 where r is the radius of curvature (for a sphere, this is the radius of the sphere; for a manifold of constant negative curvature, it's actually imaginary and of smaller magnitude as the curvature becomes stronger). The importance of the foregoing to an astrophysicist is, of course, general relativity. Space itself (and indeed, space-time) is a curved manifold, and in fact this phenomenon affects not only "plane" figures but solids, and thus spherical angles, in curved space(-time). For instance, a tetrahedron's four interior solid angles' sum will change near, say, a black hole or other dense object. (There's no nice tidy constant in steradians here analogous to angle sum = pi radians for a plane triangle; the sum of the solid angles of a tetrahedron depends on the six dihedral angles of the tetrahedron, being twice their sum minus 4*pi. For the regular, Platonic solid tetrahedron with equilaterial-triangle faces, in Euclidean space, it's 6*cos^-1(1/3) - 4*pi, and will exceed this in positively-curved space and be deficient of it in negatively-curved space.) > <sn<SMACKAK00K!> Since you have now been thoroughly and utterly *destroyed* on every one of your kOoky contentions, our ruling is: Snicker denied. *snicker* -- "To explain the unknown by the known is a logical procedure; to explain the known by the unknown is a form of theological lunacy." ~David Brooks "I get fooled all the time by the constant hosiery parade in here." ~Checkmate

Emerging economies, and all that. Economically, we're stuck in a huge conundrum, and the outcome is not going to change until something comes along to drastically thin the herds. We can't change it, and we won't change it, other than some lip service and token gestures. Bwahahahaaa! A high school-level experiment conflating glass with the
atmosphere? That's your best shot?
In point of fact, if that infrared thermometer used in that high
school-level experiment were utilizing infrared at ~11 microns, there
would be negligible difference between a clear sky and a cloudy sky.
Most infrared thermometers utilize a band of infrared from 5.5 to 14
microns, therefore it's measuring outside the ~11-micron infrared
atmospheric window at which water emits. And lest anyone forget, CO2
also emits at the ~11-micron atmospheric window, thereby decimating
your kooky 'CO2 is a greenhouse gas' AGW contention, and thereby
utterly destroying the entire AGW movement, as the NASA SABER study
proved. The NASA SABER study *proved* that CO2 is a global *cooling*
gas, as is NO... I note you've not even attempted to refute *that* bit
of reality.
You moron. LOL

Over land, you moron. Over water or ice, the clouds have negligible
effect because that water or ice emits at the ~11-micron infrared
atmospheric window, thereby allowing that energy to go right out to
space unhindered.
Nice of you to yet again deny a well-known and thoroughly studied
atmospheric phenomenon, LunkHead... of course, you're yet again 180
degrees out from reality, just as you are about global warming causing
*weaker* hurricanes, just as you are about CO2 causing global

Look at LunkHead dancing furiously in trying to cover up the fact that
he was *wrong* in his contention that global warming caused stronger
hurricanes. LOL
Three peer reviewed studies, combined with the NASA SABER study, prove
you *wrong* on every single contention you've made, LunkHead... and
coincidentally, it proves the entire underlying premise of the Klimate
Katastrophe Kook AGW crowd is a fucking lie that only uneducated
halfwits believe in.

"been debunked in thousands of places" (yet provided no proof of this
k'lamed "debunking"); she's been cornered into admitting her belief
that gays have suffered "no harm" in living a lifestyle that's given
19% of them AIDS, causes the gay community to account for 63% of new
AIDS cases per year (per the CDC) and kills thousands of them per
year; she stated that liberalism is growing when it's actually in
decline (and stated that conservatism is dying when it's actually
growing and has a nearly 2:1 advantage over liberalism), and she had
the audacity to try to use the same exact study from Gallup that I'd
used to prove her wrong in the first place (proving she's kooking out
so badly she's lost her reading comprehension abilities); she stated
the Antarctic ice sheet is shrinking faster than ever when it's
growing (to the tune of 49 gT/yr, when considering that land ice is
slowly growing and sea ice is rapidly expanding, per Nasa's ICESat);
she stated that global temperature is rising when it's been falling
for more than a decade per the UK Met and NASA, and accounting for the
revelations that US climate researchers outright falsified the data to
give the impression that a 90 year cooling trend was actually a
warming trend; she k'lamed CO2 as the driver for global temperature
change, then quoted a web page that says the exact opposite (the same
web page, BTW, that I'd used to prove that CO2 lags temperature
change, proving yet again her loss of reading comprehension)... then
she *admitted* CO2 lags global temperature change, thereby being
forced to agree with me (and reality); she then k'lamed CO2 as the
driver for global temperature change *again*, but as yet has been
unable to explain, given that CO2 levels were at least 5 times higher
in the Ordovician and sun output was nearly the same (0.991
Ordovician, 1 today), why we're not in a perpetual ice age today; she
presented examples of mass-shooting suspects that she k'lamed were
conservative (but they turned out to be liberal, socialist or were the
result of a liberal upbringing); she tried to state that Nazism was a
conservative political party (it's a form of liberal fascism that
takes many of its tenets directly from socialism); she failed to
provide any proof of some of her kooky contentions while k'laming them
as "proof"; she used a flawed and biased dating website poll and
k'lamed that it trumped an actual scientific study (ironic, given that
she's a scientist herself); she melted down so badly she lost her
ability to do simple math; she attempted to k'lame Abraham Lincoln was
a liberal (he admitted he was a conservative); she attempted to k'lame
that every major civil rights advancement was solely due to liberals
LOL

Then you won't mind backing up that accusation with proof. Say, a link to where I allegedly plagiarized that from. C'mon -- if I really did plagiarize it from something I found with a Google search, you really shouldn't have any trouble finding the original. Just paste a phrase from what I wrote into google and try to find something (other than Google Groups's archive of my post, of course) that I copied it from. Go on, and then post the link here. Your failure to do so will be taken as your tacit admission that your accusation was a load of bullshit without any truth to it whatsoever. Meanwhile, I will use the formula to derive the result for the triangular chunk of a sphere surface from ninety-degree segments of three great circles: First, note that such a triangle covers 1/8 of the sphere's surface, as one can, using three mutually perpendicular planes intersecting the sphere, divide it into eight such curved triangular surfaces. The sphere's Gaussian curvature is 1/r^2, and its area is 4*pi*r^2, so the curvature is 4*pi divided by its surface area. If the triangle's area is x times the sphere's surface area, then the area times the curvature is x*A*4*pi/A = 4*pi*x. For x = 1/8 that gives pi/2. Previously established was that for a triangle in a curved manifold angle_sum - pi = curvature_integral, which for a surface of constant curvature is just area * curvature, so angle_sum - pi = pi/2 in our example. So, angle_sum = 3*pi/2, or 270 degrees. What's interesting here is that this angle sum applies to *any* triangular chunk of the surface of a sphere whose area is 1/8 of the whole sphere. It could be a weird long and narrow triangle with that area and the angle sum will still be 270. Just eyeballing a sphere can tell you that the special case of three of the vertices of an inscribed octahedron (not including any two antipodal ones) will give you a triangle with than angle sum, but not that *any* triangle of the same area will do likewise. Now, you go ahead and try to find somewhere I might have plagiarized *that* from as well. And fail. But you are obsessed with proving me to be some sort of fraud, so you will spend a long time fruitlessly spinning your wheels trying before you give up, and that shall be my next victory over you. That, and knowing all sorts of math that you don't, and never will, because you're too ... lunkheaded. *snicker* -- "To explain the unknown by the known is a logical procedure; to explain the known by the unknown is a form of theological lunacy." ~David Brooks "I get fooled all the time by the constant hosiery parade in here." ~Checkmate

It's not rocket science. _The I2P community got all up in arms when I discussed on their forum how I was doing it, and that it'd be a good way of cleaning up I2P so it can get on with being a platform to research anonymous communication... my distinct impression was that the "anonymity research platform" story was just a cover story to allow pervs to trade CP._ (NOTE: admits to participating in what he "suspected" was a kiddie pr0n network.) Time to spin the kooks up again. Melt, kooks, melt. <snicker>
Chimpy D. PickleTickler (aka Checkmate the Jism Junkie Gerbil Cannon),
in <news:MPG.311ec6e32fe7f10998c54c@news.altopia.com> did thusly jump
head first into the wood chipper again:

You mean this, Chimpy?
Chimpy's latest SPNAK!, in his own words:
====================================================
"they're 240 volt legs" (Chimpy's words)
"either ONE of the 240 volt lines" (Chimpy's words)
"120 volt neutral" (Chimpy's words)
"New residential service is 240 volts, with a 120 volt neutral center
tap" (Chimpy's words)
Chimpy k'lames each leg running into a house is 240 volts, and neutral
is 120 volts. What a *moron*. LOL!

=======================================
All new installations of three (3) or more circuits must be wired for
120/240 volt, 3-wire when secondary distribution is single-phase
except when distribution is connected wye, the voltage will be
120/208."
=======================================
<https://www.blackhillspower.com/rates>
=======================================
Type of Service - Residential
Alternating current, 60 hertz, single phase, at nominal voltages of
_120_ _or_ 120/240 volts.
=======================================
What kind of backpedaling *moron* is Chimpy that he k'lames a utility
doesn't provide a service that they have a rate listed for? Of course,
Chimpy's such a *moron* he can't possibly conceive of a separate 120
volt-only service for an outbuilding, separate from a residence. LOL
Message-ID: <096001b11e397e1ce81972fa1a687e0c@dizum.com>

>> *rates* *page*, how much they *charge* for that *service*.
(Chimpy's best lie ever)! LOL!
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Chimpy: "it's NOT 120 volts, it's 120/240", when in fact, 120 volts is
ALL it is. Two oppositely-phased legs, each running at 120 volts, and
the 240 volt "service" is only created by tapping across those two 120
volt hot legs. So Chimpy's doubly wrong. LOL
Chimpy: "Normal residential service is single phase 240 volts." when
in fact it's split-phase 120 volts. The 240 volts is only achieved
in-house by connecting across the oppositely-phased 120 volt legs. LOL
====================================================
Chimpy thinks each leg running into a house is 240 volts: "they're 240
volt legs" (Chimpy's words), and the neutral is 120 volts: "120 volt
neutral" (Chimpy's words), because he's a *moron*.
Chimpy *still* can't figure out the difference between "single-phase"
and "split-phase midpoint-neutral", which is why he was talking about
that guy who called him and talked about "split-phase", which Chimpy
conflated to "2-phase", which Chimpy was making fun of, because
Chimpy's a *moron*. LOL
In fact, Chimpy's demonstrated that he's *such* a bad electrician he
doesn't know the meaning of the word "electrics"... he thinks it's a
misspelling: "Electrics [sic]" (Chimpy's words). LOL!
It's called a "3-wire midpoint-neutral split-phase" system for a
reason, you *moron*. LOL
Chimpy's a bad electrician, a bleatfarting backpedaling spankard and a
*moron*.
Melt, Chimpy, melt.
Froth, Chimpy, froth.
Dance, Chimpy, dance!
Muahahaha, etc.

"If I send you some money, will you suck Greg's dick?"
