However, it should be noted that the Linux kernel itself is still accessible at this point. Right, most people care about postscript. NOT! Geeks and some professionals, but the biggest part of the market doesn't care a whit about postscript at all. -- Lloyd

And what MS Windows buffoon doesn't care about PDF? LOL! But the biggest part of the market WOULD care about PostScript if Microsoft had included support for it, as any professional OS certainly should do. After all, the "biggest part of the market" will do/say/think whatever their Microsoft overlords will tell them.

In 1991, Adobe Systems' co-founder John Warnock outlined a system called "Camelot"[3] that evolved into PDF. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PostScript PostScript (PS) is a computer language for creating vector graphics. It is a dynamically typed, concatenative programming language and was created by John Warnock, Charles Geschke, Doug Brotz, Ed Taft and Bill Paxton[1] in 1982. It is used as a page description language in the electronic and desktop publishing areas. Postscript isn't even close to being similar to PDF. > And what MS Windows buffoon doesn't care about PDF? PostScript is a postfix, stack-oriented programming language. I code it, I know it, and I use it (via C++ and GhostScipt) to automatically produce .PDF files.
