While I haven't seen any difference in performance whether I cleaned the registry or not, I still think that it makes sense to remove useless entries if the software itself didn't bother to do so as those entries might eventually conflict with other software used for the same purpose. It doesn't happen often, but it might. For instance, installing WordPerfect Office without removing the registry entries before installing Microsoft Office is just looking for conflicts. -- Slimer

Revo just performs a before and after snapshot of the registry and file system. Microsoft could build in something more direct.
