PopCon-Datenübertragung läuft per Mail, falls die Kiste nicht mehr http rauskommt. Das scheint sich wohl geändert zu haben, mir war in Erinnerung dass das nur per Mail läuft. Heißt, da wird dann auch im Zweifelsfall der Hostname und die interne Domain von Kunden rausgegeben, in einem Aufwasch mit der offiziellen Adresse und ggfs. deren Namen. Nichts davon möchte ich in irgendwelchen Datensammlungen sehen. Nur die "Absenderadresse" bei http wäre IMO wiederum recht unkritisch. Ich müsste das Thema mal mit einem DSB/ISB besprechen, aber der wird mit ziemlicher Sicherheit sagen "kommt drauf an" und ich solle die Kunden individuell um Erlaubnis fragen um ganz auf der sicheren Seite zu sein. Und schon sind wir wieder am Punkt, dass die Sache eine Menge Aufwand macht in Relation zu einem zweifelhaften Ergebnis. Dann kann ich's auch gleich lassen. Der Kunde darf seine kompletten VMs gerne zu einem anderen Anbieter migrieren, wenn jener das mitmacht *und* er denn wechseln wollte. Aus Debian-Sicht ist es wurscht, ob die VM bei uns oder bei einem anderen Anbieter läuft. In der Firma als auch privat bei mir läuft ESXi, also nix PopCon auf dem Hypervisor. Privat bei mir zuerst als Bastelstube, aber inzwischen kenne ich mich gut genug damit aus, um keine Testumgebung mehr zu brauchen. Bin aber zu bequem um auf Linux basierte Virtualisierung zu schwenken. Es gibt keinen Grund dafür, aber einen gewichtigen dagegen: Never touch a running system. >> Ich weiss es nicht. Ich bin mir allerdings ziemlich sicher, dass apt-dater mit allem kann was .deb-Pakete benutzt, also auch diverse *buntu-Varianten. Letztendlich macht der ja auch nix anderes als apt-get aufzurufen. Und bei richtig alten Versionen wie Woody und Sarge gibt's kein apt-dater-host Script, was Infos zusammensammelt und zum apt-dater schickt. > Wie läuft das denn bei Server vs. Desktop?
