I guess it depends on what games you are playing. The Apple TV makes
sense if you can use iOS App Store games, while a Mac Mini might make
sense for more traditional Mac games (with a better graphics card as
you say). I doubt Apple would be trying to take on the Xbox /
PlayStation type of "gamer" quality, but aiming more at the casual game
player.

A couple of companies already make stackable external boxes for the Mac
Mini.

The "cube" design itself is almost back in the current Airport boxes,
they just don't have the "floating" transparent bottom section.
