If a company makes two separate versions of an app, one for the iPhone and one for the iPad, it should reinvest in its engineering department because Apple has made it easy to develop one version that runs natively in each environment. There are many apps that are designed for the iPhone that run on the iPad because there aren't any iPad versions for them, that are very suitable for the iPad.
