Relatedly, I've noticed that problem with "Find New Printers".
If you just click "Find New Printers", cups returns immediately,
without asking for root password, and just says "nothing found",
even when there's a printer there ready and waiting to be found.
Instead, if you first click "Add Printers", it asks for root
password. After giving it, I return to "Administration", click
"Find New Printers", and now it finds the ready-and-waiting printer.
That "Find New Printers" needs to be fixed so that it asks for
the root password when clicked.
