I did look into it after reading an earlier post, and it did sound good.
However the answer to FAQ#4, concerning USB keyboards, states that the
author's USB drivers won't work with them. All of my keyboards/mice are
cordless desksets, with one USB receiver for keyboard and mouse. If I'm
reading it correctly, that means that most likely they won't work.

I suppose I could come up with an old corded PS/2 keyboard, but as the
only time I ever might want to boot to USB with that computer is to
install a new version of Mageia and the optical drive still works fine
for that (if slower), I don't know if it's worth the trouble either way.

I've come to the conclusion that a better solution, for me, would be to
keep watch on eBay for what I think would be a good deal on a
salvaged/used motherboard/processor upgrade for my main computer, then
transfer that computer's motherboard and processor to the older case.
That way, even though everything I have would still be out-of-date it
would be less out-of-date than it is now. I'd even be able to convert
everything to 64-bit versions of Mageia if I wanted. A win-win.
