I rarely use the GUI. I tend to install the same applications when setting 
up any distro and know them by name. I seldom go shopping for something 
new. The thing I like about apt is it works on any Debian adjacent distro 
including the Pi without hunting down the GUI for that particular distro. 
For example I had to install aptitude on the Ubuntu box to play with it 
yesterday. I'd also installed Synaptic on that box since AppCenter sucks 
if I do want to shop around.

I didn't go for the ahs kernel in MX. My 4th gen Intel processor on that 
box is hardly advanced hardware so it's still 6.12.101.  Fedora 44 is 
7.1.8.  With 45 coming out shortly I don't think they'll go to 7.2 in 44 
but I may be wrong.
