Not NYC but Long Island.  I didn't disregard that you live in NY but I 
thought I was replying to someone else, sorry.

Suffolk County uses the "Image Cast" machine made by Dominion.  Perhaps 
there is a record available as to how a vote is cast and the poll 
workers I questioned were simply wrong.  I did ask hree different 
workers, all said there is no way to get a record of my vote.

It could very well be that this isn't advertised as you say.   There are 
two counties on Long Island, Nassau (the western county) and Suffolk 
(the eastern county).  There are 1.4 millipon people in Nassua and 1.5 
million in Suffolk.  That makes for a lot of eligible voters in a small 
area and the process you described would slow down the process.
