I use xfig, too. I want to like Inkscape, but it always frustrates me.
(Xfig does, too, but not as much. Mostly just the clunkiness of the
ancient widgets used.)

I (heart-emoji) feh. I find feh does everything I want, including giving
me a UI to sort images into directories (via the -A and the numbered
actions).

I have never understood the appeal of file managers. I have a shell,
ls, sort, find, du, etc. That's everything.
