Nonsense!

HTML is <br>

<br/> or <br /> is NOT html.

I don't know why you should think that somethinfg that is not wriitten as 
it "normally" is, makes it "broken".

But I reoeat:

In html, <br/> and <br /> should not be used, as only the fault-compliance 
of some browsers prevents the code not displaying as expected, or even not 
at all, by the programmer of such erroneous code.
