    Neither do I.  My user want the <Enter> key to move to (what we both 
consider to be) the next logical input field.  As an example, in *my* case I 
have a vertical column of phone numbers and email addresses, that she will 
frequently be entering/modifying.  She should move up/down thru these fields 
so as not to drive herself 'bananas' moving her hand off/on the mouse to 
click to change focus.

    That set of code is meant to allow the user to move logically up and 
down and sideways thru the input fields in a quick, efficient manner (using 
<tab>,<shift-tab>, <up arrow>, <down arrow>, <home>, <end>, etc

    To submit she *must* deliberately focus (using her mouse)  on the 
<Validate/Submit> button -- where I go into action examining/validating the 
complete set of input fields. and using my Red/Yellow/Green backgrounds to 
praise or chastise her :))
