If you have a certification you're going to be far below someone with a US 4 year college degree in the programming field, unless you have a comparable degree, then that certification tagline could bump you ahead of them.

Well, where to start? A question often pondered by authors, including
Usenet users posting or responding to articles, and Java instructors
of computer science preparing lesson plans or course notes.
Congratulations on having overcome the blank page.
What's next? Well, iteration. I'm sorry for having "thrown" links and
citations back to you, thing is, the material presented in these links
and citations has been iterated over time and again by their respective
authors, reviewed by many highly critical reviewers, and deemed to be
sound. If I were to present a discourse on "Inheritance in Java" I
would need considerably more time and motivation than I currently have.
Concerning motivation. There you have me. Unlike you, I don't give a
rat's a$$ about your future students. Well, really I do care about them
otherwise I wouldn't have responded to this article at all ....
But you, you are clearly motivated to provide your future students a
sound instruction and indeed you are concerned enough to consider their
future vocational needs such as Java Certification.
So, great start on the course notes, looking forward to the next
iteration. Hope to soon see your first draft on the topic of "Java
Certification". Carry on.
