Which languages are exempt from "generally"?

I'd guess that you'd say three languages: BASIC, C, Forth.  BASIC
because it's simple.  C and Forth because they're close the machine.

Or, do you mean C and Forth are "far too complicated" too? ...

In that case, you're no longer criticizing the language, but criticing
the complexity of the machine.   I.e., you're saying the EE's (electrical
engineers) who designed the machine are too smart for you because they
designed in too much complexity for you to handle.
