The signature indicates it doesn't consume its arguments. My FIND-NAME 
is taken from Gforth's FIND-NAME ( c-addr n -- nt | 0).

That's a good data point, thanks.

I'm more interested in the (SEARCH-WORDLIST) type words that take a 
wordlist. They're more fundamental & factored; FIND-NAME analogs are 
simply an iteration using whatever the factor (SEARCH-WORDLIST) is 
called, over the search order.
