I hope you got the 4th edition.  If you ordered an earlier one and can
still cancel the order, you should do so and make sure to get the 4th

I find cppreference.com is a good reference, enough that I haven't felt
the need of a book for that purpose.  But the book was good for
understanding how the language is put together and how to use it.

That's supposed to be a good book, though I haven't looked at it myself.
There are some samples and other info on Stroustrup's web site.

It's a good book, aimed mostly at people familiar with older C++
versions.  It sounds like you used some C++ in the past, so you're in
about the same boat that I was in when I read it.

That's even more expensive than the book, unfortunately.  I should check
whether they offer quantity discounts--I might want to place a bulk
order. ;-)

Good plan I think.  C++ in its current incarnation is a totally
different language from C, with some legacy C stuff left lingering
around in it.
